Simbach Atreyos Bonhart Vazo, or simply Simbach Vazo and such derivatives, has been a member of the Graal Military Community since 2017, though much of that past is forgotten, belonging to a different name. Joining various guilds, such as Midnight under Twister at a few points in his young career, he never found much of a real home. Being young and admittedly foolish, many concepts of maturity went over his head, and ideals of grandeur especially poisoned his mind. It was then that, under a frenzy from watching YouTube videos about "Papers, Please", his real entry into the community would begin.
The Llamanian Empire
Arstotzka
Going through a particularly edgy phase of life, Arstotzka would be made, and the plans were laid out for a grand system of ministries and a military. For all that would change in Simbach, the planning out of things, especially those destined to fail, would never change as a hobby. Having created Arstotzka, he began attempts at recruiting, which curiously attracted the attention of Ian Kazakov. Though very briefly he would join, it was quickly realized the failure this idea would become. So then Ian directed Simbach to Kingllama, now known as Wilhelm, of the Llamanian Empire.
Prince of York
Sometime, likely by mid 2017, Simbach would join the Empire, submitting Arstotzka to the crown, and becoming a Prince. Though not the primary heir to the Empire, Prince Simbach would be the one running it alongside Wilhelm and his cabinet, including Gareth Eastbourne, Ian, and General JJ Golden. These individuals would serve as great influences in Simbach's career, eventually coming back to help him as he grew.
At first, Simbach was Captain of the Guard, technically on equal rank with Ian as a division leader. This would certainly fuel the young militant's ego, something to come crashing down in years to follow. As the Royal Guard of Llamania was scrapped, Simbach would be appointed General of the Fourth Infantry Division, though it would be thoroughly dead. The luck or lack thereof in recruitment would show early on, despite any attempt to remedy the issue. Eventually, this position was also lost. A rift would grow between him and Wilhelm, though it would show most far later on.
Discharge
The date remaining lost, Simbach would eventually be subjected to trial for treason against the crown, where he would go to Gareth and Ian for help. Simbach gained a pardon from Wilhelm, claiming such things as blackmail were used. Everything went over his head, but he accepted this pardon, and moved on. This is around the time his current alias, Simbach Vazo, would be used for the first time, remaining a signature for years to come.
Parasite Legion
The name Vazo was made and granted to Simbach by Glendon, who had met Simbach through an alliance of Llamania and the Parasite Legion. A friendship would form, though eventually a shaky one. A few failed attempts at the creation of Vazokkora, a nation in their family namesake, would leave no lasting impact on the community. It is likely that nobody remembers them but Simbach himself, who these failed attempts would resonate with and serve as the foundation of an entire career in worldbuilding later on. Having been removed from his role in the Llamanian Empire, and finding no real success elsewhere, he very briefly joined the Parasite Legion led by Tanya Zeta alongside his family head, Glendon Vazo. The name Vazo was all but abandoned by Glen. In the coming days, Simbach also became a Zeta under Tanya. The title of Vazo's head of family would be claimed and eventually granted to Simbach.
Kiev Grad
Having met Sergei during his time in Llamania, Simbach would come to appreciate Kiev Grad, once retelling the tale of the mythical Kiev Bear to a troop of recruits. Simbach would briefly serve in Kiev, and resign after
Then, he began hopping guilds in search of a proper "home". Eventually, he found Ian once more, and he offered to take Simbach under his wing, though he would decline, not wanting to anchor himself to any officer just yet. Having floated around the community for a while, he eventually took a hiatus from around 2018 to 2019.
Return of The Prince
The Magnusian Imperia
In 2019, Simbach would return, bouncing around for a little while until 2020 came. Though not who he is today, he is better than he was before. It was around this time that he would briefly enter service into Imperia under Sergei in the Japanese themed Elysia.
Soon after, Aiken would request his assistance in running Corinth when it was launched. Simbach left Imperia immediately, however, causing some issues of claimed poaching and such. He would not return to Elysia, even when Corinth disbanded.
Zaza would eventually recruit him into the Confederation of Graal, a brief guild. Here, Simbach would go by his initials, Sav, which would not last. Simbach would make leave for Maveria, as he watched their meetings on Caldera prior to the official launch. He enlisted right away, finding Gareth whom he had known and many of the people he would call friends going forward.
The Maverian Empire
Quickly, Simbach would climb the ranks until that of Feldwebel, stalling at the rank of Sergeant. This becomes a pattern. He would lead trainings as he had learned and was drilled years prior, that of proper faces, of old formations, fire and advance, and so on. Where many new gens would teach games and combat, Simbach would teach unison in order, drilling turns, and parades into subordinates.
Time eventually passed, and he got bored, taking a short break every now and then, though this was before Arcadia and Maveria split their alliance. It was at this time that mapping and cartography became passions of Simbach, eventually earning him the moniker of Map Slave.
Coming back to a state of war with former allies, Simbach would be at his best. Soon, Simbach would earn one of his prized achievements, a medal, in a nineteen hour war for Destiny. Every hour was spent fighting it, just as he had done before at the height of a screenshot warfare. In Simbach's eyes, he had fought longer than even those who got the medal initially, being there the whole battle, and felled over 400 foes, top of his division.
Simbach remained in Maveria for a while, dipping out and returning to the Fourth Infantry. Simbach then stayed until the end. With Aurea occupying the capital of York, a promise was made to never join them, a promise mostly held, if Auro-State is to be excepted. Maveria gave its last hurrah on the outskirts of the Onnet Forest, fighting Oxerian forces in a final battle that they would go on to win. Though still holding enough to fill two tags, Maveria would be disbanded in order to be a bright flame put out by choice rather than burning weakly, a shadow of its heritage.
The Revolutionary State
Simbach would be contacted by Khalil, a soldier met in Maveria, to join him as English advisors to Czar Hizack of the Revolutionary State, a Brazilian guild formed as a rebellion against Imperia. Simbach then went on to help the spearhead efforts in forming the First Coalition to assail that of Arcadia and its hegemony of the south. Simbach also served as Hizack's eyes and ears in the English community as his grasp of the language still had to grow. Even when the two grew distant, they would come back together, with the friendship lasting to even today, a time when Hizack pursues his life more than a foolish game.
Eventually, the Revolutionary State would make its own hegemony alongside Arnithen in the north. Time would pass, and soon, so would the guild. With the passing of Revolutionary State, Simbach would drift once more.
Graal Ol' West
The second and third Llamanian Empire, though of dubious legitimacy, would pass to nothing. In these, however, Steve was found. Originally, he styled himself as XIV, though due to a passing joke, he took the name Steve. Serving as the most loyal man Simbach has had the pleasure of serving with, Steve would become a Vazo, helping and coming to the call as requested.
Now free to move on to projects of his own, Simbach began putting work into Noveanism, planning for a guild on West. Despite some effort, he knew it would not succeed, considering his recruitment skills were lacking, and West was a dead server of its own. Aurea's relative hegemony would not help either, even as they "opened" the south.
Eventually, there were occasional attempts at making guilds on Classic once more, with slightly more success than prior. Some recruitment choices led to officers capable of fielding their own loyalists. Due to lack of faith, however, they abandoned him in his campaigns. The Confederations of York came and went as well, though more memorable to some, as they would hold York after Sarovia left with its ruleset. This, coupled with mapping successes, would lead to Simbach's rise in the Bastion. Initially only in charge of mapping concerns, he would become a Lord and help reform the rules and manage the organization. Karlsburg also came and went, with Simbach retaining his ever present rank of Sergeant.
Relative Modernity
The Amestrian Empire
In early 2022, Simbach would sign on to Amestria as the eventual Minister of Culture. At the time, as rules were more and more shaky and organizations broke down, Simbach would become a Lord in the Bastion.
As Amestrian foreign policy became that of slandering Aurea every hour of every day and night, the sworn virtue of honesty in the Vazo name would see him compromise his position in Amestria for posting screenshots of Amestrian high command members confiding that they would rather unclaim all land and simply watch Aurea, preferring not to engage. Though the country would not pursue such a course, the sentiment of the officers was there, driving Simbach to action, even with no real benefit to doing so.
No longer an Amestrian, being discharged for "leaking confidential information," he spent his days perusing servers, entering the usual arguments, and making the occasional item for militants to use through GORI, his organization dedicated to servicing guilds needs.
The Auro-State Empire
In mid-July, rumors of a new State were circulating open channels of the Graal Historical Society. Soon thereafter, Simbach was contacted by Spyros Çønsïlïm, inquiring about the interest shown by him in the concept. It was then realized by Simbach that Aurea would be involved, an unholy matrimony of the two historic countries. With firm promises in place of religious neutrality, or at least the immunity to persecution, he entered into service as a Colonel of the 2nd Regiment, soon to be the 2nd Grenadiers Regiment.
For the first days, things went well. The Imperial Landwehr Corps, the first tag, flourished for a short period. Soon, plans for a new Corps were announced, but people had gone inactive. With the creation of the Imperial Cavalry Corps, a more Auro-centric tag, two of the active officers were transferred, leading to the outrage and panic of the Imperial Landwehr Corps officers. With the growing resentment, a letter was drafted by the officers of the Corps in complaint. This would only partially work, with the Imperial Cavalry Corps remaining in service, but it would still gather the much needed attention of everyone involved to the flaws of the current daily running of the guild. Effort was put in, and high command would begin organizing officers.
During the first officer meeting since the letter, where issues were presented and solutions discussed, Simbach would make mention of a joke, "Operation Career Suicide," to his (reluctantly) trusted Lieutenant and confidant, Jaxson Kamno. Despite the latter's notorious reputation as a man with no loyalty, he had seemed to be getting his act together, and was personally vouched for by Thanatos. Jaxson, more obviously as to why in hindsight, jumped on the plan.
Operation Career Suicide was a proposal to respond to a challenge by Kronborg Castle with an adhoc military detachment to meet the enemy in battle, in spite of orders against it. Upon asking permission from Kevlar, to which Simbach was refused, he would drop the matter. However, Jaxson leaked the plan and screenshots of the meeting after failing at leading the newly made Aurean Vanguard Brigade to battle.
With the falling apart of Auro-State's Classic-based military, an insurrection, internally called SIF (State Is Fucked), was organized by Arnold Vaughn. The organization of an anti-Aurean coup led by a very highly titled Aurean immediately raised alarms, though Simbach would go along with it, keeping plans of his own to himself. When the time came, and the other officers involved made their attempts to be foiled upon the reveal of an inside job, Ordinance No. 001 was released, detaching the 2nd Grenadiers Regiment from the rest of the Imperial Landwehr Corps, and by extension, the Empire itself.
Determined to battle with Sarovia after his former superiors would refuse it, he rallied his only loyalists, and those with the pity to buff up the Regiment's numbers, for a battle against the might of the New Sarovian Empire. There would be no victories for the Regiment, not in any rounds of the battle, nor in the towering attempts afterwards. When his soldiers left to find their own successes in guilds beyond, he would put down the game, leaving his name set as "Colonel", and with a new status set on a plain white background, opposed to the pink he had used for years.
Post-Suicide
Libertas
Up until late 2023, not much of note happened as Simbach was away from the game. Late in July he would return, very briefly passing through Savona, Wilhelm's new startup, before joining the Republic of Libertas. One of few guilds where democracy could supersede its leadership, Simbach was at home. Announcing a Senatorial bid, he and Zapz co-founded the Congressional Party dedicated to strengthening the Senate and to one day eclipse the Presidency as the supreme power of the guild permanently when such a thing could be considered viable. Agnes Lenin (formerly called Snake), the President, gave Simbach his name and private support for the party, lining it up to take power.
During his tenure in Senate, Simbach had become the Secretary, formatting and writing all bills to be signed by the Presidency. The Congressional Party only won a single seat out of the five-member Senate, relying on the support of other members to pass any legislation, much to his chagrin as the flagship bill of the party was shot down on the floor.
Disaster eventually struck Libertas, and by extension, Simbach's goals in government. Angel Vaughn and the Romaris had nuked Libertas for about a month, eventually causing Lenin to give up and leave entirely, leaving Libertas to dissolve practically overnight.
Aldara
Being invited to Aldara after assuming the title of Acting-President (and later President-Marshal) of Libertas as a foreign dignitary, Simbach ghosted in the server, peeking in every once and again to respond to a ping. Soon, Libertas was wholly gone, the last shreds blowing away in the wind.
In Aldara, January of 2024, Article 27 was passed, ironically (or outright ignorantly) called the "Secular Bill", it banned all religion in the guild. Seeing as to his zealous tendencies, Simbach would run for Prime Minister, ultimately losing, near-cementing his place to be forever a follower and never a leader in the GMC. After a failed streak in government, Simbach would again fade out.
