Operation Career Suicide

The conflict between the Auro-State Empire and the Sarovian Empire fueled everyone's interest, particularly Simbach Vazo's. The anti-Sarovian rhetoric drilled into him would pave the way for an unauthorized battle, disobeying direct orders from the Emperor, Kevlar Vaughn. After the battle, it was revealed that Lieutenant Jaxson Lathum had committed treason by divulging information to Sarovia and leaking an officer meeting. Having been reprimanded by Spyros Vist, Simbach later disconnected his regiment from the command structure of the Imperial Grand Army, and by extension, the Auro-State Empire. This action was dubbed "Operation Career Suicide".

In pursuit of an independent war, the 2nd Grenadiers Regiment launched a series of attacks against the Sarovian Empire, all of which were unsuccessful. The secession would spark a division between Aurea and State. As the pitfalls of the union would show, both sides blamed each other for the decline of Auro-State. To this end, Kevlar Vaughn had former Aurean Dauphin Arnold Vaughn incite a rebellion and pin it on the State in an attempt to scapegoat, though the plan failed.

Shortly after the 2nd Grenadiers Regiment, the Auro-State union disbanded and both guilds declared independence. The State transitioned into the Academy, and the 8th Aurean Empire was formed.
