Graal Defense Forces is considered to be the historical precursor to the Graal Military Community. Founded in 2009 by General Insignia, the purpose of the Graal Defense Forces was to protect the community against hackers. The guild also dabbled in towering. Auel was a member of the Graal Defense Forces before ultimately deciding to create his own criminal enterprise known as SEC, and with the help of the Graal Defense Forces captured slaves for his farms. Auel later used the basic structure of the GDF as inspiration for The State.
