The name Avidius was meant to be a second name for myNylius' previous name, Mevarus—Mevarus Avidius. This was when the Roman-themed guilds started to show up, and Ihe havewas been longinglooking to change myhis name to something else anywayfrom the one before that. It took several months before Ihe finally decided to use it as a family name.

The name was first given to Paw Vivre and Arno Kaage for a project known as "PAM", and wethey exchanged family names to ''bind ourselvesthemselves together''. ThisThe laterpartnership proved to be a waste of timefutile, and wethey simplylater dropped the others' names asand timemoved wenton onfrom the endeavor.

The name was later given to several people as well, but INylius simply revoked the name after Ihe realized how "careless" Ihe have beenwas with the name I associated with myself. IHe then decided to give it to people who have "responsibly and outstandingly" served mehim or the guilds Ihe helped lead. This has been the practice since 2016 andbut therehas aresince onlyexpanded ato coupleinclude membersthe offspring of Genssome senior family members, including some other Aurean Avidiaemperors.

Avidius was kept as a behind-the-scenescenes family as certain families (such as Vaughn) dominated my publicity. Some timeSometime after summer, Ajax Kaage, one of myNyl's closest and most loyal lords, approached mehim and asked for my permission to join House Wexler under the banner of the Avidius family, which later became known as House Avidius. As this was the set up, IAjax was implicitly made Ajax acting lord of the house as INylius havehad notother reallyresponsibilities used it in any meaningful way (Given that my legitimacy to the Aurean throne lies on methen, being the patriarch of the Imperial[[Vaughn|Vaughn House of Vaughn)dynasty]]. House Avidius was later absorbed into Auro Roma.

After Auro Roma, Ajax again took up the banner of House Avidius and led a small group of Aurean loyalists to continue its civil society through Montecon. Several individuals (Mostmost of whom arewere loyal Aureans) were adopted into the family and it now makesmade up a bulk of Montecon's officer corps then.

Merovech is a cadet branch of Gens Avidia for Ol' West and was usedserved in Marseille as its ruling family. As a family solely for the myNyl's Ol' West endeavors, it is an entirely different tree from its Classic counterpart. There was also a period when Merovech was renamed to Rothstein for a company guildproject but Iit changedwas itreverted back to theMerovech formerlater anywayon. Those granted the Merovech name kept both Merovech and Rothstein while those granted the name Rothstein were not given permission to use Merovech, except for Jiub/Abram.
