His actions have made him a highly controversial figure. His use of Nazi Germany organization structures coupled with his totalitarian rule have earned him public criticism for being a Nazi.
His loyalist following has resulted in the terms "Auelism" for the following of Auel and the term "Auelist" for his followers.

Critics and supports alike recognize that his vision for player organized government ushered in the Era of the Militaries, a two year period of unprecedented player organization and the growth of an entirely new community within the game: the military community.

=History=
==Origins==
When he began the game, he was quickily enslaved by a group of criminals and forced to work on their farms. He would later become a criminal himself and became involved
After completing the tutorial on Balamb Island, the player that would later become Auel was captured by a slave trader. In the days before the Out button, slavers would often capture noobs and sell them to farmers in order to work on their plantations. Auel was captured and sold to a farmer and worked on his farm for a short duration. After escaping from the plantation, Auel joined a group of slavers and became one of the people who enslaved him.

His time in the underworld took him off map for the first time, in the time before The Void, resulting in his interest in off map regions and ways to escape the confines of the mainland.

Auel and the group of slavers he had joined were all jailed for selling slaves several times. After awhile, the leader was banned and the group disbanded.

While wandering, Auel encountered the Graal Defense Forces. The largest Pre-State military. While The State is the origin of all current militaries, there were militaries before The State that operated on different systems and organization. It focused on protecting people from hackers, glitchers, and on towering. The GDF was lead by General Insignia. Auel founded his own slave and farming organization, the SEC and supplied funds to the GDF in exchange for manpower to help capture slaves. It was his first experience with running a guild, and the first exposure to an organized military.
