Coalition Era

The Coalition Era refers to a period during the post-Imperian GMC, in which community politics would follow a specific cycle. Generally, a large power would gain dominant political and militaristic power. Then, a number of smaller guilds, usually most other guilds at the time, would form a coalition to topple such a hegemony through military conquest. Usually, though not always, this attempt at joint-conquest would be successful, and the hegemony would be toppled. The community would see healthy competition for a time after - only to have hegemony be re-established by another guild.

The Coalition Era, arguably, ended with the July Campaign, for after the fall of The Unified State, the guilds within the community were too contempt, and old-gen leaders too apathetic, to reignite the cycle.
